Rabbi Marcus L. Burstein

Thank you for your tribute gift in memory of Rabbi Marcus L. Burstein, z”l. A past president of HUC-JIR’s Rabbinic Alumni Association and a member of the Board of Governors of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Rabbi Burstein was a devoted Field Mentor for rabbinic students from HUC-JIR for more than 15 years.

Rabbi Burstein joined Jewish Family Congregation of Ridgefield, Connecticut in 2013. Prior to that, he served as a rabbi at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, New York. Previously he served as a Union Rabbi for the East District of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) where he helped congregations in the areas of clergy placement, contracts, conflict resolution, visioning, and leadership development. In addition to his work with the URJ, he was a rabbi on staff at Temple Har Shalom in Warren, NJ. Immediately following his ordination, Rabbi Burstein served Temple Rodef Shalom of Falls Church, Virginia.
